Artist Statement
My artistic practice examines the psychology of basic human interaction. I create toy-like sculptures and farcical tableaus that seek to disarm and actively engage the viewer through a sense of play and humor. The use of bright colors, reductionist forms, and vector lines intersect a mass-produced aesthetic with the deeply personal. Hidden within each piece are narratives that contain autobiographical Easter eggs. These tiny narratives connect fact and fiction and provide a layer of authenticity embedded within the commercial.
